The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) has recently completed work on the 2030 In Sight strategy, setting an agenda to eliminate preventable sight loss for 1.1 billion at-risk people. It now seeks to implement this strategy together with its members on the ground, especially those in developing nations. IAPB’s leadership appreciates that implementation of this transformational strategy will not be a straightforward process. It will face many obstacles arising out of complex interactions between multiple people and organizations— even among those people and organizations who each believe they are working toward a similar goal. IAPB recognizes that, in order to find leverage and to deliver results, a systems approach is needed.
